| I wrote and drew up this comic way back before it became cool to make fun of Dresden Codak (I have a bit of a backlog going on), and so after DC started getting flack from Your Webcomic is Bad and You Should Feel Bad, I wondered for a while if it was even worth using if it wasn't going to be cutting-edge. In the end I decided that it would be fine, I mean who really cares? At least I'm not doing a Star Wars spoof. (Note to readers. Spoofing Star Wars is dead. If there is just one thing that you take away from this site, I hope it is a commitment to not slump into the lazy comedy cesspool that is making fun of Star Wars. Remember back when I used to be indifferent to Family Guy? Well now that Blue Harvest has come out, I officially hate it. Bad move, Family Guy.) Anyhow, really I was a little bit worried about getting some backlash from Aaron Diaz from this one, because he and I have kind of clashed a little in the past, and from what I've seen, he doesn't exactly jump for joy at the prospect of criticism. Thankfully, though, the recent wave of Dresden Codak hate has been quite enough to make this little spoof seem quite tame. In fact, it feels almost like a tribute, unless you go to the trouble of decoding all the wingdings and Braille and stuff. Well-read readers (especially the ones who found me through Terror Island) will recognize the nod to Terror Island. A strip that I am loosely partnered with in certain ways that I don't think are official or really announced yet. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it earlier, but I got a short-but-positive review a while ago. |
